We have combed the web to find archaeology field schools that may appeal to the aspiring archaeologist. They include related anthropological fields, such as bioarchaeology and physical anthropology, but we’ve tried to stay with courses that will give you the basic skills you need for that first job. Read the descriptions carefully and make sure that a goal of the field school is to teach new archaeologists the basic skills.
Some overly specialized field school might have slipped through here. (However, we couldn’t resist spicing things up with an underwater field school or two.) We hope you will find something suitable that will train you for that first job while at the same time furthering your research interests. We will keep this page updated as more field schools are announced.
